About The Firm

Our client is a well-established accounting firm with a long history of serving nonprofit organizations. They combine the personal attention of a small practice with the technical depth of a larger firm, providing high-quality review and advisory services to mission-driven clients. The team values collaboration, precision, and balance—offering a supportive environment for professionals who want meaningful work without the grind of traditional public accounting.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Audit Sampling Staff Accountant to support their Audit Team, with a primary focus on audit sampling, testing, and data-driven procedures for nonprofit engagements. This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys working with large data sets, applying sampling methodologies, and partnering with audit teams to strengthen accuracy, coverage, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Execute audit sampling and substantive testing procedures across nonprofit audit engagements.

  • Extract, organize, and analyze client data to support sample selection and audit conclusions.

  • Prepare and maintain audit workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation using Knowledge Coach.

  • Follow firm audit methodology and documentation standards.

  • Perform analytical procedures and assist in identifying accounting, internal control, or reporting issues.

  • Collaborate closely with team members to ensure timely, accurate completion of testing.

  • Maintain compliance with professional standards and firm policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA eligibility not required).

  • Coursework or experience in data analysis, statistics, or audit sampling methodologies.

  • 1-5 years of public accounting, audit, or related financial analysis experience preferred.

  • Comfortable working with large spreadsheets/data sets; strong Excel skills required.

  • Experience with Knowledge Coach is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable in a flexible, collaborative setting.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation based on experience.

  • Full single health coverage.

  • 401(k) match and employer-paid supplemental insurance plan (Aflac-style).

  • Flexible, remote-friendly schedule and a culture that values balance and professional respect.
