Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Non-Profit Accountant with strong knowledge of US accounting standards, fund accounting, and non-profit regulatory requirements . The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with charitable organizations, foundations, NGOs, or other mission-driven entities in the United States.

This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial management, donor transparency, and compliance with non-profit guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for a non-profit organization
• Maintain and reconcile accounts using fund accounting principles
• Track restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and donor contributions
• Prepare financial statements, monthly reports, and year-end reports
• Support annual audits and regulatory filings (e.g., Form 990 preparation assistance)
• Monitor budgets and assist with forecasting
• Process payroll, accounts payable, and expense reimbursements
• Ensure compliance with US non-profit accounting standards and reporting requirements
• Collaborate with program teams and leadership on financial insights

Requirements

• Required: 3+ years of experience in US non-profit accounting
• Strong understanding of fund accounting
• Experience preparing or supporting  Form 990
• Experience working with grant-funded programs
• Knowledge of GAAP for non-profit entities
• Experience with US non-profit financial compliance and donor reporting
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite)
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• CPA or work toward CPA is a plus, but not required
