Job Description

A respected healthcare facility is seeking a dependable and professional Hospital Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role plays a vital part in supporting hospital operations, protecting property, and ensuring compliance with healthcare safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a visible and active security presence throughout the facility and surrounding areas.
  

• Respond quickly and safely to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following established safety and security protocols.
  

• Escort patients, staff, and visitors as needed to ensure safety and comfort.
  

• Monitor entrances, parking areas, and facility grounds to deter unauthorized activity.
  

• Manage and document all security-related incidents, including patient valuables, lost items, and restricted property.
  

• Provide vehicle and courier assistance, including inspections and emergency response support.
  

• De-escalate conflicts using calm communication and approved defensive tactics when necessary.
  

• Collaborate with local law enforcement and hospital leadership during investigations or emergencies.
  

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital confidentiality policies at all times.
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
  

• MediClear Certification (or equivalent HIPAA credential) required.
  

• Valid Indiana driver’s license required.
  

• 1+ year of experience in hospital, healthcare, or corporate security preferred.
  

• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in stressful situations.
  

• Physically capable of standing, walking, and responding quickly throughout long shifts.
  

• Knowledge of AIDET or AVADE de-escalation principles preferred.
