Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Brawley, California. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Responsibilities: - Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately documented. - Conduct monthly account reconciliations, including bank and ledger accounts, to maintain accurate financial records. - Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation of necessary reports and adjustments. - Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns and sales tax reports. - Monitor and maintain the general ledger to ensure it remains up-to-date and balanced. - Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve them in a timely manner. - Collaborate with internal teams to support accurate financial reporting and compliance. - Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting standards during all financial activities. - Provide support during audits by preparing required documentation and addressing inquiries. - Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting processes and increase efficiency. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Proven experience in corporate tax preparation and sales tax reporting. - Strong proficiency in journal entries and general ledger management. - Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and reconciliations. - Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail. - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. - Knowledge of accounting principles and standards, with a commitment to accuracy.
