Job Description

Description We are looking for a Fully Remote detail-oriented Property Staff Accountant to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. This is a Contract-to-permanent opportunity within the dynamic real estate industry, specializing in sales and leasing. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in property accounting and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records while working in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: - Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. - Assist the Accounting Manager during audits by providing necessary documentation and support. - Coordinate the onboarding of newly acquired properties into the accounting processes. - Monitor and maintain the accuracy of financial activities related to property management. - Ensure timely completion of scheduled check runs and financial reporting deadlines. - Perform bank reconciliations and monthly journal entries to support month-end close processes. - Utilize software such as Yardi and Argus for accounting tasks and reporting. - Collaborate with third-party management teams to oversee financial operations. - Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and propose solutions. - Support corporate tax return preparation and general ledger management. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in property accounting within the commercial real estate sector. - Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi and Argus. - Strong skills in performing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger tasks. - Demonstrated ability to complete month-end close processes independently. - Experience with corporate tax return preparation. - Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. - Familiarity with third-party management operations is preferred.
