Job Title: Surgical Assistant
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 4x10s | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay Rate: $48.00 – $53.00/hr
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Surgical Assistant for an exciting job in Cincinnati, OH.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and position patients for surgery according to surgeon’s instructions.
Provide visualization of the operative field through retraction, suctioning, and tissue manipulation.
Maintain hemostasis and assist with wound closures, including subcutaneous and skin layers.
Administer local anesthetics postoperatively under surgeon supervision.
Select and apply appropriate wound dressings and immobilization materials.
Assist with harvesting veins, arteries, tendons, bones, and tissue grafts.
Ensure compliance with sterile technique and infection control standards.
Maintain knowledge of surgical techniques, instrumentation, and emerging technologies.
Education:
Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program, or
Foreign Medical Graduate with at least 3 years of U.S. surgical assisting experience (case-by-case consideration).
Preferred: Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited Surgical Assisting program.
Certifications:
Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
Preferred: NSAA, CFA (AST), or RNFA (NASC).
Experience & Skills:
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures.
Excellent manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
Preferred: Minimum 2+ years as a Surgical Assistant and 4 years of general surgical experience, including 2 years in a specialty area.
